The month of May, traditionally a month of love and romance is illustrated here as Prince Jean de France, Duke of Berry, enjoys a relaxed Spring ride in the company of a sweet lady. The soft pastel colors of this tapestry stand in contrast to the traditional dark background found in most tapestries of the period. -
The Making of Wool was adapted from an original tapestry woven in France in the early 17th century. It is presented on exhibit at the Louvre Museum in Paris. Bordered by blossoming vines and set against a flower filled field, a young shepherd standing near a spinning wheel watches as a young woman shears the sheep and another works a loom.
